1910s Buster Brown Factory Cast Iron Factory Plaque in Original Paint

1910s Buster Brown Factory Cast Iron Factory Plaque in Original Paint

This magnificent cast iron sign was displayed on the outside of a Buster Brown Shoe Factory. It reads, "Buster Brown Shoes For Boys and Girls". The sign has a 17" diameter, and is from the early days of Buster Brown Shoes. The unmistakable look of original "inventor" of the comic strip (The Yellow Kid, Buster Brown), Richard Outcault, is "written" all over the sign, especially in pit bull Tige, with his scarily grinning face and pointy teeth. The original paint is in excellent condition. Signs like this have sold between $5,000-10,000 when placed in auctions.
