1910s J. G. Taylor Spink's Own Personal "Sporting News" Knife
This knife originates from the desk of the publisher of the "Sporting News," the most important publication of the era. J.G. Taylor Spink acquired The Sporting News from family members, and this knife is from the era directly following the acquisition of the paper. It is something of a missing link as this is a rare accompaniment to the team knives collected from the same period. Made of celluloid to look like ivory and steel, one side reads, "Sporting News" while the other side says, "J.G. Taylor Spink Clayton, MO." Measures 3.25" long and is in EX-MT condition.
