1911 Carlisle Indian Football Team Photograph w/Jim Thorpe and Pop Warner (PSA Type III)
Vintage photograph capturing the 1911 Carlisle Indian School football team, including Jim Thorpe and coach Glenn "Pop" Warner. This is a famous photograph that captures the club posing in a studio setting fresh off their historic upset of undefeated Harvard 18-15. The score of the game is painted on the football held by the player seated in the center. Thorpe was the star of the game, kicking four field goals in the win. Two Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with the handwritten identifications of the team, year, Thorpe, and Warner. The photo (8x5") displays several light creases throughout.
