1911 Philadelphia Athletics World Champion Souvenir Cast Iron White Elephant
Connie Mack just loved the elephant logo of his Philadelphia Athletics, as can be seen by this cast iron white elephant made to commemorate the 1911 World Series win by the A's and given away to guests at a celebratory dinner held later that year. The elephant is approximately 3" tall and is standing on a black cast iron base that measures approximately 1" tall and depicts a small baseball diamond on the top. There is engraved writing on all four sides of the base. The front reads, "Athletics, Champions of the World 1911" while the back says, "Dinner, Hotel Astor, New York, December 12, 1911". One side of the base says, "American Base Ball Club of Philadelphia" while the other says, "Baseball Writers Association of America". EX-MT condition
