1911 World Champion Philadelphia Athletics Panoramic Team Photograph Display
Collection of three vintage 1911 Philadelphia Athletics photographs matted together in a framed display. The center photo (9x6"; visible dimensions) pictures twenty-three members of the 1911 A's in a traditional team pose, including manager Connie Mack, Eddie Collins, Frank Baker, Eddie Plank, Chief Bender, Jack Barry, and Amos Strunk. The names of all but three team members are written in pencil (in an unknown hand) on the player's respective image. The printed white lettering along the base reads "Philadelphia American Champions 1911/Copyright 1911 American B. B. Club of Phila." The photo (4.25x6"; visible dimensions) on the left side of the display pictures Chief Bender in a throwing pose, while the photo (4.25x6"; visible dimensions) on the right pictures Frank Baker in a batting pose. The names of both Bender and Baker are written in pencil (in an unknown hand) along the base of their respective photos. The Baker photo displays a large diagonal crease to the right of Baker's image. The other two photos are in apparent Excellent to Mint condition. Please note: while we believe these to be original photos from the period, they have not been examined out of frame, nor have they been examined by PSA, therefore no guarantees are made with regard to specific Type designations. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 25x11.5". The size and/or weight of this lot will necessitate an increased shipping charge.
