1912 Opening of Redland Field Panoramic Photograph From The Edd Roush Collection
Two days before the Titanic sunk on April 14, 1912, Cincinnati baseball fans were treated to the opening of a sparkling new ballpark known as Redland Field. This incredible panoramic photo taken from center field of the classic old stadium is even more valuable when one realizes that it belonged to Reds Hall of Famer Edd Roush. Measuring 37x12" in its frame, the matted photo displays the Runey Co. cartouche at the bottom right corner and comes with a letter from a Roush descendant and LOA. It appears in NRMT condition and is a distinct treasure. Redland Field was renamed Crosley Field 22 years later, after Powel Crosley, Jr. purchased the struggling franchise. Cincinnati defeated the Cubs 10-6 in that inaugural game at Redland Field en route to a 75-76 season.
