1913 Charles Comiskey "White Sox" Boat Real Photo Postcard

1913 Charles Comiskey "White Sox" Boat Real Photo Postcard

The 1913 Chicago White Sox finished in the middle of the American League pack with a 78-74 record, but as they were embarking on their season in April, owner Charles Comiskey was setting sail on his fancy boat which has the team nickname on the cabin and bow. A photo of that vessel comprises the front of this postcard that Comiskey sent to a Col. J. Peck Sharp of Kentucky. Note the right side of the photo shows an armed guard, although World War I hadn't officially started yet. The first card of its kind we have seen.
