The Newark Indians were a member of the Eastern League from 1908-11, and then the International League from 1912-16. This rare 1913 pinback button celebrates that year's International League Champions Newark Indians team, which finished with a league-best record of 95-57. The pin is believed to depict team manager and former Major League catcher Harry Davis in his uniform, bearing the slogan "Newark knows how." It reads "Newark Base Ball Club CHAMPIONS 1913 - Board of Trade of the City of Newark." The item is in VG condition with one nick at the bottom center.
