1913 Wright Brothers Photograph from Dayton, Ohio Photographer

1913 Wright Brothers Photograph from Dayton, Ohio Photographer

This Type I photo depicts the Wright Model E Flyer in flight over Huffman Prairie with the hangar and a second Model E in the background. It appears to be Orville Wright piloting the Model E. This is the only known photograph with the photographer's stamp, "Photo by Mayfield & Kramer c/o Daily News Dayton, Ohio." William Preston Mayfield was considered by some to be the Mathew Brady of the air age. Beginning in 1910 William Preston "Bill" Mayfield flew with and photographed the Wright Brothers. The Huffman Prairie was the Wright aviation field and is where the museum is located today. Measures 5x7" and is EX-MT.
