1914 World Series Boston Braves Press Pin Missing Back
Small yet significant, this press pin originates from the Boston Braves and dates to the 1914 World Series. Measures 0.75" in diameter, and there is residue on the back from the original pin, which is no longer present. Braves logo is in the center front, with "1914 World Series Braves" on blue enamel circle. Trailing in the National League by 10.5 games on July 4, the nickname "Miracle Braves" was well earned as they not only stormed to the National League pennant, but stunned Connie Mack's powerful Philadelphia Athletics in history's first 4-game World Series sweep. Interestingly, the Braves used Fenway Park as their home venue, as Braves Field was not to be completed until 1915.
