1915 Philadelphia Athletics Fatima Cigarettes Poster
Large-format point of sale advertising poster issued in promotion of Fatima Cigarettes. This is one of several similarly designed posters issued by the company at the time, each of which featured a different Major League team. The offered example pictures the eventual World Champion Philadelphia Athletics in a classic team pose. Included here are manager Connie Mack, Frank Baker, Eddie Plank, Eddie Collins, and Chief Bender. A colorful illustrated package of Fatima Cigarettes sits prominently in the lower right corner. These posters were issued to retailers for store display and, as such, were mailed folded. The offered poster (18.5x12"; visible dimensions) displays a horizontal and vertical fold (as issued) and a diagonal crease in the lower left corner. Aside from those minor condition anomalies, the poster is Excellent to Mint in its overall appearance and perfect for display. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 26x20". The size and/or weight of this lot will necessitate an increased shipping charge.
