1915 White Autos v. Omaha, Nebraska Panoramic Photo (115,000 Fans!)
An amazing photo from a historically significant event, the October 10, 1915, game between the White Autos and the Omaha Luxus, the most attended baseball game in history. The Luxus were an amateur team sponsored by Krug Brewery and "Luxus" was one of their beers. The White Autos, were an amateur team sponsored by White Motor Corp. The photo reads, "Attendance 115,000," which is evidence that this is the most attended game; this has been speculated but not with the evidence in writing. The writing appears in white on the photo, which means it was written directly on the negative. New prints are available for purchase of this photo, but they do not have the writing on the negative, which reads "Championship Ball Game - White Autos vs. Omaha Neb- Brookside Stadium - Cleveland, Ohio - Attendance 115,000 Oct 10, 1915 - Score White Autos - 11 Omaha 6." Beautiful and expansive, tastefully framed and matted, this photo measures 8x42" and has extraordinary detail of the game. This is consistent only with a large panoramic format that was at the height of popularity during this era.
