1915 White Autos vs. Omaha Panoramas and Pennant - Crowd of 115,000 Fans!
A trio of historic artifacts from one of the most significant early baseball games is on tap in this lot. All related to the amateur championship game of October 10, 1915, between the White Autos and Omaha. 1) Stunning framed 46x9" panorama of the estimated crowd of 115,000, comparable in history only to the crowd of 115,301 at a 2008 preseason game at the LA Coliseum between the Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. Caption on front reads: Championship Ball Game - White Autos vs. Omaha Neb. - Brookside Stadium, Cleveland, Ohio. Oct 10, 1915. Attendance 115,000, Score - White Autos 11, Omaha 6." Copyright notice is on bottom left corner. 2) Framed 50x10" panorama of White Auto fans after they won the Championship, some of whom are holding felt pennants. Caption reads, "Welcoming Home The White Auto World Amateur Base Ball Champions, Sunday November 7, 1915," with copyright notice in right corner. 3) One of the actual felt pennants mentioned in the previous photo. Standard-sized pennant is gray with black lettering, "1915 White Autos" along with black circle around the words "World Amateur Champions." All items are in terrific condition considering the vintage and the three together complete a wonderful historical display.
