1916-19 Ray Chapman Game Used Bat (34.5”)

1916-19 Ray Chapman Game Used Bat (34.5”)

A truly significant find for Cleveland Indians collectors! Rare artifact is worthy of only the best Cleveland Indians collections. One of only two known game used bats from the only player to be killed by a pitched baseball, whose career and life was tragically cut short after 8 seasons with the Indians. Hillerich & Bradsby “double-dash-dot-dash” model was discovered by a non-collector in Cleveland, Ohio and has never seen the light of day! “Chapman” in block letters on the barrel. Excellent use with cracked handle, which has been repaired with small nails. Some splintering to barrel. .5” hole drilled into the top of the barrel. On the knob is a lathe turn mark. The possibility of another Ray Chapman bat being discovered at this stage of the collecting game is slim to none. Comes with detailed LOA from a serious Cleveland Indians collector who purchased it from the gentleman who discovered it.
