1967 Sam McDowell Game Worn Home Jersey

1967 Sam McDowell Game Worn Home Jersey

He was well on his way to a promising career, could have been the best strikeout pitcher the game had ever known. Unfortunately his career was cut short, but McDowell was the most dominating pitcher AL batters had to contend with. From 1965-1970 he won 5 straight strikeout titles. “Sudden Sam” is behind only Nolan Ryan and Sandy Koufax as far as average strikeouts per 9 inning games. He struck out 300 batters in two different seasons. Home Cleveland jersey is the type predominant in the late 60’s. Features front with zipper and no sleeves. Front has #48 on right breast and Indians head patch on left. Verso bears his #48, name has been removed. Tagging is Wilson [size] 48 with 1967 year tag. Exceptional use.
