1916 Deed For Cleveland's League Park
Here's the important document that put the "Land" in Cleveland. The deed transfers the land on which League Park was built from the Cleveland Ball Club Company (the Indians) to Ban Johnson. Signed by then-team president C.W. Somers and Cleveland Secretary J.A. Foeratner, it was notarized and also signed by witnesses. League Park was home to the Tribe from 1891 to 1946, as well as many other sports teams. It was demolished in 1951 although some pieces - including the original ticket office - still stand. The deed is in Very Good condition with typical mailing folds.
