1917 Cincinnati Reds "Royal Red Rooters" Panoramic Photograph
Offered here is an exceptional black and white panoramic photo of the 1917 Cincinnati Reds along with their Royal Rooters. Miraculously, the team includes manager Christy Mathewson and the core of the 1919 World Champions including Hal Chase, Bill McKechnie, Tommy Griffith, Ivy Wingo, Edd Roush, Greasy Neale, Jimmy Ring, Fred Toney, Rube Bressler, Dutch Reuther, Larry Kopf, Sherwood Magee, and Heine Groh. In addition, personalities Al Jolson and August Hermann are spotted in the crowd. The printing reads: "Royal Red Rooters of Cincinnati at the Opening Game between St. Louis and Cincinnati at St. Louis, April 19, '17" at the bottom left, and "Photo by La Mertha, 1108 Times Bl'dg', St. Louis" at the bottom right, both in white print.
