1917 Honus Wagner Signed Agreement For the Purchase of the Land on Which He Built His Home

Honus Wagner would be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame’s historic first class in 1936 in Cooperstown, but he would settle down at the address of 605 Beechwood Ave, Carnegie, Pennsylvania and reside there until his passing on December 6, 1955. This purchase agreement for the land on which he would build his retirement home sets the purchase price at $7,000 and is signed, “John H. Wagner (Seal)” in 8/10 black fountain pen ink at the bottom of the document. The document itself is VG. The actual land and home is being sold in this auction also.
