Extraordinary set of 25 player photographs of the 1919 Boston Red Sox, a year that will live in infamy in Beantown as it was Babe Ruth's final season with the Sox. The fabled slugger was sold to the Yankees following the season, setting in motion the "Curse of the Bambino" that would haunt the Red Sox for decades after. Photos include Babe Ruth, Harry Hooper, Everett Scott, Herb Pennock, Ed Barrow, McInnis, Mays, Webb, Bush, Jones, Schang, Strunk, McNally, Winn, McNeil, Walters, Conway, Gainer, Shean, Dubuc, Vitt, Dumont and Gilhooley (2). Each photo has player's name handwritten on back. These photos were taken before 1919 as Dubuc was sent to the minors on April 7. Each measures 2.75x4.5". Ruth has a spot on the right corner. Overall EX with minor staining on a few.
