1970 Tony Conigliaro Single Signed Game Used Ball
One on the long list of athletes with potential for greatness, who tragically never got a chance to excel, Tony Conigliaro just missed rookie-of-the-year honors due to a broken arm before the end of the season. The slugger belted 32 the following season to lead the AL and kept adding to the tally until he was struck by a fastball to the eye, which eventually ended his baseball career. Luckily, one loyal fan caught this ball at an Indians-Red Sox game and got it signed by the Red Sox slugger. Blue ink signature on the panel is a 9 out of a possible 10. Inscribed on the other panel is “Cleveland Boston July 11, 1970”. Ball shows significant game use.
