1919 E. W. Kemble Original Cartoon Art
<p>From the original Illustrator of "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn", "Puddin' Head Wilson", "Uncle Tom's Cabin", and "Uncle Remus", among others. Kemble's artwork appeared frequently in the major publications throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s including; Life Magazine, Colliers, and Harper's Weekly. </p><p>This piece dates from 1919 and depicts Lady Justice battling the Bolshevik bear in an attempt to keep it from taking over Europe. The black ink drawing measures a touch over 9.5x11.5" with a water stain in the lower left and right corners, o/w very nice condition. Verso is stamped, "Apr 26, 1919" with the title "Get Off!" in lower right corner. </p><p>A great piece depicting the early battle of democracy versus communism that would later define more than a generation of world relations. </p><p> </p>
