1920 Boston Braves & 1917 Chicago Cubs Panoramic Photos (2)

1920 Boston Braves & 1917 Chicago Cubs Panoramic Photos (2)

Two sublime snapshots of baseball history comprise this lot. The first panoramic print is from a 1920 postseason exhibition game between the Boston Braves and the J.C. Rhodes amateur baseball team. It took place in front of an SRO crowd at Sargent Field in New Bedford, Mass., and since Braves player Rabbit Maranville hailed from New Bedford, the day of the game was proclaimed "Maranville Day." The Braves won the game 3-0, holding the Rhodes team to one hit. The photo measures 48" x 8" and is in VG condition. The second panoramic print is a Spring training shot of the Chicago Cubs at Tournament Park in Pasadena, California on February 27, 1917. Chicago would go on to post a 74-80 record that season. There is water damage to the left side of the photo but otherwise is in VG condition.
