1920 John McGraw Large-Format Cabinet Photograph

1920 John McGraw Large-Format Cabinet Photograph

Large-format cabinet photo capturing Hall of Fame manager John McGraw in 1920. The photo pictures McGraw posing together in street clothes alongside an unidentified oil rig worker. An oil derrick is pictured in the background. The handwritten notation "J. J. McGraw 1920" is written along the base of the photo (it is NOT a McGraw signature; it is simply an identifier). A printed label on the reverse identifies the location "Two prominent oil operators at Lamb-McGraw company well drilling on company property in Young county, Texas. Mar 23 1920." The Giants used to train in Texas during spring training and McGraw obviously took time out to check on one of his many outside business ventures. The photo (6.5x8.5") is Excellent condition, while the mount (10x12") displays a few tears long the border, as well as light staining.
