1920 Ray Chapman Funeral Program

1920 Ray Chapman Funeral Program

The only man ever to be killed during a Major League Baseball game. He fell victim to Yankee pitcher Carl Mays, whose fastball tailed into Chapman’s head and caused his death. Elegant leather bound volume is embossed in gold, “In Memoriam Raymond Johnson Chapman” on cover. Sixteen-page volume is elegantly lettered with the funeral oration and signed on the final page by the Mayor of Cleveland and the Chairman of the Ray Chapman Memorial Committee. Condition is a gorgeous NRMT. Unseen in collecting circles until today. Given only to players and team officials, this one belonged to George Uhle.
