1920s Exhibit Card Vending Machine

1920s Exhibit Card Vending Machine

While the gangsters and flappers were doing their thing during the Roaring '20s, the kids and every day Joes frequented arcades and other establishments, pumping coins into great old vending machines such as this, hoping they would spit out their favorite players' cards. The body of this machine is made of wood with two slots on the front to insert pennies and two other slots where the cards would dispense. There's a glass window above with two cards (Dazzy Vance and Wally Pipp) displayed. The wording above and below the display cards reads: "Your Favorite Picture Cards, 1c Push Slide In-Pull Out Slowly." Printed below on wood is: "Novelty Card Vendor, Metropolitan Coin Machine, Inc., Brooklyn NY." In all, it measures roughly 8x13x7" and is in VG condition with some cracks in the wood. The original back is in place, along with the turnkey.
