This vintage press pin shows a bit of wear on the baseball but is in otherwise EXMT condition. The blue and white enamel painted face shows two crossed bats and a baseball colored gold in the center. The outer edge reads "World Series Polo Grounds New York Press." The back is stamped with the maker's mark "Whitehead and Hoag Newark NJ." The 1921 World Series marked the first appearance of the New York Yankees in the championship game. They eventually lost to their Polo Grounds co-tenant Giants, five games to three in the last ever nine-game series.
