1921 "Raising of the World Championship Flag at Dunn Field, Cleveland" Original Photo
Original 8" x 10" black and white photo by photographer Louis Van Oeyen, a photographer for the Cleveland Press who became famous for his memorable baseball photos and one of the first to attempt action shots. This collage-type photo celebrates the "Raising [of the] World Championship Flag at Dunn Field [League Park], Cleveland, Ohio, May 11th, 1921" which is written in black fountain pen on the lower right (unknown hand). Picturing HOFer Tris Speaker on the upper left, the photo extols the Indians' 1920 World Series victory. Reads "Van Oeyen, Photo, Cleveland, O., 1921" on the lower center, overall EX with minor creasing, matted and framed to 13" x 16".
