1921 World Series Press Pin Giants / Yankees
As far as World Series press pins go, they don't come any finer than this 1921 specimen, which dates to the last year of the best-of-nine format. The New York Giants outlasted their crosstown rival Yankees, five games to three, and this NM-MT+ pin is a fine reminder of that Fall Classic. The piece features two crossed bats and a baseball in its center, with the year - "1921" - printed underneath. Around the circumference are the words, "WORLD SERIES POLO GROUNDS NEW YORK PRESS". Made by Whitehead & Hoag (whose name is impressed into the back), this pin was used throughout the '21 Series. Simply put, there are very few pieces of 1920s New York baseball history in such fine condition.
