This panorama of one of the most iconic baseball venues of all time is sure to turn heads. The shot is of the Polo Grounds, as seen from its cavernous center field, and was produced for the 1921 World Series between the New York Giants and New York Yankees. The floating heads of the major players from the Series appear along the bottom of the picture, with the Giants on the left and Yankees on the right, while at the top the portraits of Frisch and Ruth oppose each other. The top left displays an ad that Truly Warner bought a signed baseball including signatures from Ruth, Mathewson, President Coolidge and President Harding for $750, which at the time was called the highest priced ball in the world. Warner's logo also appears at the top right. The framing is original, measuring 10x37", and though there has been some mild water damage it is overall VG-EX.
