1922-23 Tour of Japan Team Photographs (2)
Pair of wonderful, rare group images from the 1922-23 Major League tour of Japan, with both featuring a more formal setting than the baseball milieu. 1) Measuring 10.5x7", beautiful image of players as well as what is surely their wives, all very nicely attired in suits and formal dress. Back is blank, a thin strip of tape residue is present across the top border. 2) Measuring 8.25x10", tour participants try their hand at chopsticks in this posed photo at a Japanese eatery. Photographer's stamp is in bottom right corner, back is blank. The '22-23 off-season tour featured greats such as: Casey Stengel, Herb Pennock, Waite Hoyt, George Kelly, Amos Strunk, Joe Bush, Frank Buck O’Neill, George Moriarty (ump), Irish Meusel, Luke Sewell, Riggs Stephenson, and others.
