1922 Bobby Jones "On the Links" Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph capturing a young Bobby Jones teeing off on the links in 1922. The original paper news caption on the reverse, dated "7-12-22," reads "The Scrap at Skokie/Young Bobby Jones, one of the leading amateurs in the country, who is looked upon as a formidable entry in the open championship now being played at Skokie." Four Brown Brothers credit stamps also appear on the reverse. Jones finished one stroke behind Gene Sarazen in the 1922 U.S. Open held at Skokie Country Club in Glencoe, Illinois. The photo (5.75x5.25") has been slightly trimmed to its current dimensions and displays a few small editorial markings on the front. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
