1922 Kenesaw Mountain Landis World Series Photograph by Paul Thompson (PSA Type I)

1922 Kenesaw Mountain Landis World Series Photograph by Paul Thompson (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph capturing Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Landis as he prepares to throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Game 2 of the 1922 World Series between the New York Yankees and New York Giants at the Polo Grounds. As noted by his credit stamp on the reverse, this spectacular image was taken by renowned baseball photographer Paul Thompson. The pencil notation (most likely in Thompson's hand) "2nd game. World's Series 10/5/22 Judge Landis throwing out 1st ball" appears on the reverse above his credit stamp. The photo (6.5x8.5") has been trimmed along all four borders, with white tape applied to the reverse border areas, otherwise EX. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
