1923-25 Wally Schang New York Yankees Game Used Bat (PSA GU 8)
Wally Schang was a well-traveled catcher and outfielder who made his MLB debut in 1913 and played 19 seasons in the Majors. This lot offers a Wally Schang game-used Hillerich & Bradsby professional model bat he swung between 1923 and 1925 when he collected 219 hits for the New York Yankees. The unnumbered ash wooden bat measures 34.75 inches long and weighs 34.9 ounces, and shows numerous ball marks on the right, left and back barrel. The bat comes with a full LOA from PSA (GU 8), which means it matched available factory records for the labeling period, possessed identifiable player characteristics and exhibited at least medium use.
