1923 Jack Dempsey vs. Tommy Gibbons Souvenir Pin with Ribbon
This souvenir pinback medal commemorating the historic July 4, 1923 heavyweight championship fight between Jack Dempsey and challenger Tommy Gibbons in Shelby, Montana was produced by the venerable Schwaab Co. of Milwaukee. It measures 1 1/2 x 3 1/4" and the red, white and blue ribbon reads "Dempsey Gibbons Fight July 4th 1923. Boxing gloves and oil derricks are engraved on the face of the medal below the words "Shelby Mont." The actual pin from the back is missing, but the medal is in EX condition.
