1923 Willard's Chocolate Champion Athletes (17)
The 1924 Willard’s Chocolate set consists of 56 cards, each one measuring about 1”x 3”. The cards feature a portrait or staged “in action” sepia-tone player photo with a white border. The player’s name and chosen sport, along with the card number, are also printed on the face of the cards, and the backs are blank. As the name implies, the set covers a variety of “sports champions”, with one card inserted into each package of their products. This collection includes card #’s 1 (2), 9, 12, 21, 27, 28, 30, 32, 35, 38, 46, 48, 51, 54 and 55(2) for a total of 17 cards. Cards are a uniformly pleasing collector grade of GD to VG. Nice collection of seldom-seen Willard Chocolates sports cards!
