1923 Yankee Stadium Box Seat
Feast your eyes on this rarest of all Yankee Stadium seats - a wooden chair that was used in the lower boxes that can be traced to the opening of the Stadium in 1923. Numerous photos of these seats being used can be located online. In all likelihood, this one was used by a VIP or dignitary at one time. Did Mrs. Babe Ruth rest on this in the house that her husband most famously built? We will never know. The original light green paint is well-worn and gives the item some real character. It is still structurally sound, with only one of the bottom slats on the seat loose. The chair stands 33" tall and is about 18" wide.
