1923 Yankee Stadium Dedication Program
This is quite simply one of the most important programs ever in terms of graphics and history. And a rarity, too, as only 15-20 copies still exist. The classic cover has the look of the Harry M. Stevens New York World Series "programmes" of the day. It introduces Babe Ruth and his new playpen to the world. These Bronx bombshells did not disappoint, with the Babe hitting an Opening Day three-run blast to christen baseball's Taj Mahal. The cover is rough but the insides are clean and unscored. The Yankees opened "The House That Ruth Built" on April 18, 1923 with a 4-1 victory over the rival Red Sox.
