1923 Yankee Stadium Panoramic Photo Taken January 2, 1923
Behold the House That Ruth Built - before it was built! Months before a single fan ever walked through the turnstiles or a batter had stepped to the plate, Yankee Stadium was just a brand new building on the second day of 1923, still under construction but bounding with endless possibilities and a storied future. Just to put things in perspective, the franchise that would become the model for all American sports hadn't even produced a world championship on the day this exceptional panoramic was shot. Printed by White Construction Contractors, there is also a pamphlet from the architects, Osborn Engineering Co. The photo has a center crease from having been folded but otherwise is beautiful with sharp contrast and grades EX-MT. The entire framed display measures 32" x 14".
