1924 Honus Wagner Cardboard Trolley Sign

1924 Honus Wagner Cardboard Trolley Sign

Splendid advisement for "The Great Ballplayer of All Time" who "Tells His Own Story." A one-time event in a local newspaper the Gazette Times, this was done only locally in Pittsburgh, hence the rarity. Interesting to note that Wagner never really cared about money. The loyal Dutchman was never paid more that $10,000 a year, yet he never left the Pirates. Even then he should have had a book deal, and today it would have been major. Amazing sepia image of "Hans Wagner" at the bat. Repaired corner, re-backed and some minor soiling, o/w EX. Only specimen known. 11x17".
