1924 New York Yankees Opening Day Original Glass Plate Negative
Original glass plate negative capturing twenty-two members of the New York Yankees posing together at Yankee Stadium on opening day in 1924. All the players are wearing their team sweaters, including Babe Ruth, manager Miller Huggins, Waite Hoyt, Herb Pennock, Bob Shawkey, and Earle Combs. Although no information is provided on the negative, we have seen an original news photo of this image complete with its paper caption on the reverse listing both the date and venue. The negative (5x4") displays a few small areas of emulsion loss that do not affect any of the player images. Accompanied by a small positive photo of the image printed on paper.
