1924 Pottsville Maroons vs. Atlantic City Roses Original Panoramic Photograph
<p><span style="font-size: 15px; font-family: proxima-nova, Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #202020;">The independent football team from Pottsville, Pennsylvania, the Pottsville Eleven originally played in the eastern Pennsylvania circuit against other independent and local teams. With their success and ever-growing fanbase, they joined the Anthracite League in 1924, changed their name to the "Maroons" and even won the league title.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px; font-family: proxima-nova, Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #202020;">With their eyes on bigger and better things, the Maroons desperately wanted to make an impression on the NFL and its president Joe Carr. On a trip to play the Atlantic City Roses the Maroons' fans followed along, attended the game and sent a loud message to the NFL. </span><span style="font-size: 15px; font-family: proxima-nova, Arial, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #202020;">This beautiful panoramic photograph was taken during the trip and shows the team with all of their loyal fans.
