1924 Waite Hoyt Signed NY Yankees Payroll Check
Waite Hoyt was the dominant ace during the 1920s Yankees dynasty, providing the pitching to compliment Babe Ruth's punch at the plate. Interestingly, this check is dated August 30, 1924, the day Hoyt himself beat the soon-to-be champion Washington Senators for his 17th win. It is counter-signed by team owner Jacob Ruppert and manager Ed Barrow. The rare signature variation on verso reads: "Waite C. Hoyt."
