1925 Jacksonville All-Stars w/Ernie Nevers & Signed Photos (4)
He played four sports at Stanford University and was known as one of the greatest football players over the first half of the 20th Century. Yet little is known about Ernie Nevers' first pro team in Jacksonville, Florida, as the club folded after just two games - against the NFL's New York Giants and Chicago Bears. These four wonderful Pinehurst Gardens publicity photos (Type I) include paper caption noting all the players from the ill-fated team. The lot includes three 8x10" signed player photos (Jim Lawson, plus Russ and Herb Stein), of which no exemplars exist.
