1925 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed Baseball from the Sporting News Archive

1925 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed Baseball from the Sporting News Archive

Though many of the signatures have faded and the surface of the ball has darkened the importance of this Spalding ONL ball cannot be denied. Pulled from the archives of Sporting News it was signed by as many as twenty four of the 1925 WS Champion Pirates just one day before their decisive Game 7 victory over the Senators. Oil Smith, Hazen Cuyler, Glenn Wright, Fred Clarke, William McKechnie, and Babe Adams are the only black fountain pen autographs still completely legible with the other signings and inscriptions being only partially so. A remarkable relic none the less!
