1925 Pottsville Maroons vs. Frankford Yellow Jackets Program

1925 Pottsville Maroons vs. Frankford Yellow Jackets Program

The 1925 Pottsville Maroons won the NFL title in their first year but had the designation stripped due to a postseason exhibition played against Notre Dame's Four Horsemen team (whom they beat, 9-7) that was prohibited by the league commissioner. This program from the season finale against the Frankford Yellow Jackets took place on Saturday, November 29 and, according to the cover, cost the grand total of a dime. This stunning piece of sports history has multiple creases but still displays nicely. The game is scored inside (the final is 49-0 "FAVOR OF MAROONS") and is in GD to VG condition overall. One of only a few 1925 Maroons programs known to exist, there's a roster inside, as well as some vintage advertisements and even "A THOUGHT FOR THE DAY" on the inside back cover.
