1926 Jack Dempsey vs. Gene Tunney Heavyweight Championship Program
On September 23, 1926 at Sesquicentennial Stadium in Philadelphia, in front of a crowd of 120,557, Jack Dempsey defended his Heavyweight Tile against Gene Tunney. Tunney, the better boxer, avoided the powerful blows of Dempsey and won a unanimous 10-round decision and the title. Offered here is a scarce, unscored official program for this fight, measuring 9" x 12." There are no rips or tears, but it does have some creasing and soiling. This fight was held out in the rain so few of these programs survived and the few that did are in better condition than the one we offer here.
