1927 Don Miller Signed Yankees Payroll Check
From the famed backfield of the Notre Dame football team to the greatest team in the history of baseball. This member of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse signed with the Yanks during this season of seasons, but never actually made it into a game. One-thousand dollar check is described in typed note on verso as being, "Balance due on bonus for signing contract." Barrow and Ruppert's signatures are on the front, while the back has, in the football star's hand, "Pay to the order of Mrs. Elizabeth B. Miller, Donald C. Miller." Elizabeth's signature is just below. All ink is NRMT; check has vertical center fold, otherwise EX-MT+. This is not the same Don Miller that played Football for Notre Dame.
