In this attractive photo that presents more like a Ralph Lauren clothing ad, Jack Dempsey is seen taking swings of a different kind during a break from his training in White Sulphur Springs, N.Y. A rare combination of boxing and baseball history made complete with his black fountain pen inscription, "To Joe-Best Wishes-From Jack. Saratoga. July 10/27" (8/10).
