1927 Tony Lazzeri Double-Signed New York Yankees Paycheck

1927 Tony Lazzeri Double-Signed New York Yankees Paycheck

From Murderer's Row to Manufacturer's Hanover. Hall of Fame second baseman Tony Lazzeri received this payroll paycheck from the Yankees on September 15, 1927 - his second year in the major leagues. It is worth $707.52 (a far cry from what A-Rod is getting these days while being similarly inactive). The check is signed on the front By Jacob Ruppert and Ed Barrow, while the reverse is endorsed by the slugger as both Tony Lazzeri and Anthony Lazzeri in green ink, both rating 8/9 out of 10. The check has a light fold line in the center, is in EX condition and beautifully framed. Lazzeri batted .292 over his 14-year career, during which he helped the Bronx Bombers win five World Series titles.
