1927 Ty Cobb Type I Batting Photograph (PSA)

1927 Ty Cobb Type I Batting Photograph (PSA)

A pair of legends in their respective fields combine in this vintage black and white Type I photo. Charles M. Conlon was behind the lens in snapping this 1927 shot of Ty Cobb in mid-swing. The Georgia Peach was 41 years old and in his last season, batting "only" .323 for the A‚s. His look of determination is ageless and this rates as a splendid example of Conlon‚s work as well, as he wrote on the back in blue pencil, "Ty COBB, With the Athletics toward the close of his career," along with his ID stamp. Measures 6.5x8.25", with some pinholes and in overall EX condition. Encapsulated as Authentic by PSA.
